Ethics and Value

I am an independent practitioner therefore not part of a company; this allows me to provide an individual approach to my practice. I perform all the operations and consultations myself. I think that creating a rapport with a patient is important and having only one surgeon responsible in charge of the whole treatment increases the quality and the safety of the treatment. I place special emphasis on the quality of care that my patients receive, by working in hospitals that provide excellent care with specialist nurses and highly qualified anesthetists.

I believe that providing comprehensive pre and postoperative information to the patient is essential for achieving a successful outcome. This information is individual because all procedures vary according to the needs of the particular patient and should be discussed with the surgeon that is performing the operation and not anybody else.

Every operation has limitations and carries a risk of complications. Your surgeon will discuss these in detail during your consultation.

The decision to have surgery requires careful thought and time. The patient needs to have all the information available to be able to make informed choices. If there are any points that require further explanation or clarification, I encourage patients to have further consultations in order for them to be happy with their decision.

I never try to push patients into surgery. The decision of having surgery is purely a patient’s decision and shouldn’t be influenced by the surgeon or any member of his team. The surgeons’ role on this decision is to guide the patient and explain what can be done to alleviate the patient’s problem and eventually help the patient to make an informed decision without any pressure.
